The adaptive transparency option that appeared in the third beta of iOS 16.1 for AirPods Pro 1 and AirPods Max appears to be a bug.

Owners of AirPods Max and the first generation of AirPods Pro noticed an adaptive transparency setting that replaced the original transparency setting shortly after upgrading to iOS 16.1 Beta 3 and the AirPods beta firmware. It was assumed that Apple was expanding the feature to more headphones. It's not often that Apple touts new features like adaptive transparency and brings them to older devices, so it was a strange decision. But it is said to be a mistake, as Mark Gurman now explains. reported.

Adaptive Transparency remains an AirPods Pro 2 feature

According to his information, this option is only available for the AirPods Pro 2. This means that this is a display error. This means that the option is visible on the AirPods 1 and AirPods Max but not implemented. It can therefore be assumed that Apple will remove the whole thing in the next beta. Adaptive transparency is a feature of the AirPods Pro 2 that Apple highlighted extensively when introducing the new earphones and attributed to the new H2 chip. Adaptive transparency is supposed to enable the AirPods Pro to dampen loud noises such as sirens, construction work or loud speakers at a concert without blocking out all noise. (Image: Apple)
