Apple released the sixth beta of iOS 15 and Co. this evening. Apple disabled a new feature that was integrated into FaceTime and stated that the function will not be available when iOS 15 launches.
FaceTime has undergone a major update in iOS 15. In addition to the ability to use FaceTime on the web, Apple has also added the option to use SharePlay. However, the feature was disabled in Apple's sixth beta and will not be available at the official launch. Instead, the company plans to add the feature with a point update to iOS 15, iPadOS 15, and macOS 12 Monterey. Since SharePlay is temporarily removed, Apple is offering an alternative tool for developers to test SharePlay development features. A SharePlay profile has been made available for developers to download.
iOS 15 launches without SharePlay in FaceTime
SharePlay was disabled for use in the iOS and iPadOS 15 developer beta 6 and will be disabled for use in the initial release this fall. SharePlay will be re-enabled for use in future developer beta releases and will roll out to the public in software updates later this fall.
