Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Apple closed all Apple Stores worldwide (except China) in March until further notice. Now there is speculation about when the first locations in this country could reopen their doors - and there is already a date.

While Apple already opened the store in Austria Germany could be next. We have information that Cupertino is planning to reopen Apple Stores on May 11th in Germany. This means that if everything goes according to plan, the German locations will reopen on Monday. However, this is subject to certain conditions that must be met. However, it can be assumed that the reopening will be linked to certain restrictions. Accordingly, the opening hours could be shorter and the focus could be on repairs.

Strict entry controls cannot be ruled out

In Austria, the Apple Store is currently closed on Monday until Friday from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. However, there are strict controls at the entrance. This means that masks are required - each customer must bring their own. In addition, security staff take the temperature and only allow small groups into the store so that the safety distance can be maintained. Customers must therefore expect to wait. The focus is on the Genius BarAnyone who wants to shop will have to expect longer waiting times. A similar regulation is also to be expected here. As soon as there is further news on this, we will report on it as usual. (Image: Apple)

Update from May 8th – Apple has announced the reopening of its stores on May 11th confirmed.

Apple devices here are not test units on loan for two weeks but everyday tools: from the iPhone through MacBook Pro, MacBook Air, and iMac to the Apple Vision Pro, at least one device from nearly every product category is in daily use, many of them replaced annually. Every menu path in a guide is verified on the device before it is published.
