As the coronavirus continues to spread in China, Apple has had to temporarily close two more stores, Bloomberg reports.

A new Bloomberg According to reports, Apple had to temporarily close two more stores in China. The locations in Nanjing and Fuzhou are said to be affected. Apple boss Tim Cook confirmed the closure of the Qingdao location as part of the quarterly figures release. Other stores are currently only having limited opening hours. According to the report, the Nanjing and Fuzhou locations are scheduled to reopen on February 3, while the Apple Store in Qingdao is scheduled to resume operations on February 4.

Only “business-critical” travel to China allowed

Apple employees are currently not allowed to travel to China, Cook confirmed the day before yesterday. According to the report, travel is only permitted in “business-critical” cases. The Cupertino-based company is also providing so-called care kits for its own employees in China. In addition, Apple has provided financial resources to aid groups and organizations on site. Since the coronavirus is still in its early stages, the general situation is difficult to assess - says Cook. A decline in sales cannot be ruled out. As a result, Apple has set its sales forecast for the current quarter at 63 to 67 billion US dollars. The Apple boss justifies the large range of 4 billion US dollars with the outbreak of the coronavirus and the associated uncertainty. (Photo by digitalista / Bigstockphoto)
