Apple has introduced a special headband from Belkin for its Vision Pro headset. The new Belkin headband is designed to be used with the Solo Knit Band and is intended to provide additional support and comfort. This accessory could be of interest to those who use the Vision Pro for longer periods of time or during more active movements.

Since the Vision Pro was introduced at WWDC 2023, Apple has established itself as a serious player in the field of augmented reality and virtual reality. With a sophisticated design and a wide range of applications, the Vision Pro appeals to both technology enthusiasts and professional users. In Apple's presentations, the headset was often shown together with an additional headband, but this was not initially released for sale. This led to questions in the community, especially as some users complained about the weight of the Vision Pro and were looking for a more stable solution. Apple now seems to be responding to these needs and, in collaboration with Belkin, is releasing a headband specifically for the Solo Knit Band.

design and stability

The Belkin headband features a locking mechanism that is specifically designed to keep the Vision Pro headset securely in place, even during significant head movement. The product page describes the headband is described as "aesthetically matching" the Solo Knit Band and points to additional stabilization points. This means that the band is not only practical but also blends seamlessly into the design of the Vision Pro.

sales start and price

The price for the new Belkin headband is 55 euros and it is sold through the Apple Online Store or Apple Store. Interested parties can already order it.

function and target group

The Belkin headband is aimed at Vision Pro users who feel the need for a more secure hold either during more intensive movements or longer periods of use. The new headband seems to be a useful addition to the Solo Knit Band for such use cases. It is intended to help the headset sit more comfortably on the head and exert less pressure on the face, which many users found to be a burden.

Comparison with the Dual Loop Band

While the Vision Pro comes with the Dual Loop Band for extra support, the Belkin headband offers a different type of stabilization. The Dual Loop Band consists of two thin bands that run along the top and bottom of the head to achieve even weight distribution. However, some users have criticized that these bands do not provide enough stabilization and the weight of the headset is uncomfortable over long periods of time. In fact, I share this opinion. The Belkin headband could be a useful alternative here, as it offers a firm attachment without restricting freedom of movement.

Apple Vision Pro Belkin headband: Apple responds to user needs

With this new headband, Apple and Belkin are specifically responding to user feedback. The additional band makes the Vision Pro better suited for long periods of use and active movements. With a focus on comfort and stability, the Belkin headband could be a welcome addition for many Vision Pro users. The new Belkin headband shows that Apple is not only focusing on technical innovations but is also continually responding to user needs.
