Apple appears to be testing a new type of Siri response in Spotlight that will answer some questions directly instead of displaying a list of web results.

Apple's latest tests in the Spotlight area have already been discovered by some users and commented on Reddit. The company seems to want to teach Siri a new search results format. If a question is entered in the search, a list of websites is displayed. Now Apple seems to be expanding the whole thing by displaying an answer to the question directly. The source and a "Report a problem" area are also displayed. Apple is constantly expanding Siri's knowledge base, but now Cupertino seems to want to expand the whole thing with the help of websites. Currently only available for US users

If Siri doesn't know what to do next, she suggests a few websites to the user - in order to speed up the answering process, Apple's assistant seems to have received an update to its algorithms. These enable the smart assistant to search various websites for a possible answer. This new feature is obviously a significant extension of the actual technology. Basically, it can now precisely analyze the websites it finds and extract relevant text passages - an intelligent search for results. The new web answers in Spotlight are currently only available to iOS users in the USA. It is assumed that Apple will expand the innovations to other countries in the near future.
