After more and more rumors about the “Apple Car” have surfaced in recent weeks, it seems that Apple is actually in talks with automakers to produce an electric car.

After a report According to the Korean website Hankyung, Hyundai has now confirmed that the company is in talks with Apple about producing its own new car. Originally, the Korean website claimed that Apple was negotiating with Hyundai Motor to produce the Apple Car. Hyundai would help Apple with both the production of its electric vehicles and the development of the special batteries that will power the Apple Car. According to Hankyung, part of the development of Apple Car components will take place in one of Hyundai Motor's plants in the US. The report confirmed also a previously published Bloomberg article, according to which the Apple Car will still need about five to seven years before it is officially presented. Accordingly, an introduction is not expected until 2027.

What is much more interesting and unexpected, however, is that Hyundai itself confirmed these rumors after the report. A spokesperson for the company told CNBCthat Apple is in talks "with a number of global automakers, including Hyundai Motor." There have been several rumors in the past that Cupertino is dependent on partners for the Apple Car. After all, the company does not have any facilities where an electric car can be produced. Last year reported Reuters reported that production of the Apple Car will begin in 2024 with a "breakthrough battery technology" that will offer a longer range and also lower costs. It is still unclear when Apple will unveil the electric car. But it seems that the company is indeed pursuing such a goal. (Photo by World Image / Bigstockphoto)
