Apple's charging mat is supposed to be able to charge multiple devices simultaneously – AirPower was introduced in September 2017. Apple has officially scheduled a market launch for "early 2018".

According to this, Apple is said to have two problems with the charging mat. The first major problem is the overheating of the Qi mat. This is said to be so strong that even the connection between the device and the charging station is disrupted. Another problem lies in the arrangement, because the installed power coils are said to have been divided into three equal groups. Each of the coils is a different size. Due to a lack of space, this is said to lead to overlapping one another, which is one of the causes of this severe overheating.

In mid-September, another sign of life appeared - an Apple patent. The patent provided the first deep insight into Apple's plans on the subject - there have never been so many details about AirPower. Since this year, it has officially been possible to speak of a delayed market launch. Nevertheless, it remains unclear whether AirPower will ever reach market maturity and go on sale.
