The AirPods Pro have been on the market since October 30th. Their launch was already announced by countless rumors. Now the time has come - the guys at iFixit have taken them apart.
Like every year, iFixit takes a look at the latest product and takes a look inside the device. This is also the case with the new Apple AirPods Pro. As soon as you open them, you immediately see the built-in battery. While the normal AirPods have a thin and elongated battery, the AirPods Pro are equipped with a button cell. The exact capacity could not be determined. According to Apple, the AirPods Pro, like the normal AirPods, can offer five hours of battery life on a single charge. If noise cancellation is activated, the new in-ear headphones only last 4.5 hours. It does not matter whether the active or transparent ANC mode is used. In addition to the battery, the chips have also changed. These are now smaller than those of the normal AirPods - but they do not have a proper shape. They have been adapted to the interior of the AirPods Pro.
repairability is lacking
As expected, the AirPods Pro are also disposable plugs. Of course, it is a bit of a shame that the AirPods cannot be repaired in the event of a defect. But you shouldn't be too critical of Apple here. Installing the components is really complex and requires sensitivity - there is probably no solution to improve the whole thing. Overall, iFixit gives the new AirPods Pro zero out of ten possible points in terms of ease of repair.
