This year's iPad Show will take place on October 30th at the Howard Gilman Opera House. The motto of the keynote: There's more in the making! Everyone can watch the spectacle via a livestream starting at 3 p.m.

It is certain that Apple will present us with two new iPad Pro models, among others. The beta versions of iOS 12 have been bringing out new details about the upcoming devices in recent weeks. However, leakers and analysts were not sure about some functions. Now this is changing in the area of Face ID usage. There has been repeated speculation as to whether Face ID can be used on the iPad in landscape format. In the latest iOS 12.1 beta, the well-known software leaker Guilherme Rambo has now found an answer to the question.

Learning in Portrait Mode

To set up Face ID, the iPad Pro must be held in portrait format. Once the setup is complete, facial recognition can be used in both portrait and landscape format. The code contains the following description: "Face ID needs to be in portrait to learn how to recognize you. After Face ID has been set up, it will work in portrait and landscape."

In addition to two new iPad Pro models, Apple will likely introduce four updated Macs and new accessories.

Apple devices here are not test units on loan for two weeks but everyday tools: from the iPhone through MacBook Pro, MacBook Air, and iMac to the Apple Vision Pro, at least one device from nearly every product category is in daily use, many of them replaced annually. Every menu path in a guide is verified on the device before it is published.
