Apple Arcade is a gaming service that will only be available on Apple devices. The monthly subscription allows you to play titles without any in-app purchases or advertising.

Last night, Apple announced the official launch date of Apple Arcade announced - the service will start on September 19th and will cost around $4.99 per month - a trial month and the well-known family sharing are included. When Apple mentioned the new service, the company showed a slide with all the participating developers. The interesting thing is that the number of participants has almost tripled since the first announcement in March. While there were initially 35 participating developers, there are now a whopping 92 companies. These include Sega, Disney, Devolver Digital, Gameloft, Capcom, Square Enix, Ubisoft and Bandai Namco.

"Over 500 million US dollars invested"

It is currently unknown how many games each developer is working on for Apple Arcade. Apple says there will be around 100 different titles available at launch. It is reported that Apple has spent over $500 million on Apple Arcade alone to drive and secure development on each launch title.

Apple Arcade will be released on September 19th in over 150 different countries. The service can be played on iPhone, iPad, iPod touch, Apple TV and Mac - game saves are synchronized via iCloud. According to Apple, an internet connection is not required. Do you want to play Apple Arcade with a Playstation 4 or Xbox One S controller? Here you will find out you how it works. (Image: Apple)

Apple devices here are not test units on loan for two weeks but everyday tools: from the iPhone through MacBook Pro, MacBook Air, and iMac to the Apple Vision Pro, at least one device from nearly every product category is in daily use, many of them replaced annually. Every menu path in a guide is verified on the device before it is published.
