Recently, new features from iOS 13 and macOS 10.15 were released by insiders. Now there is more information - the new details should be of particular interest to developers.

Apple’s Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) begins on June 3. Exclusive details about iOS 13 and macOS 10.15 made public. Today there is some interesting information for developers - this also comes directly from Apple's development department. In the future, developers will have more access to Siri functions. This includes media playback, search, voice control, message attachments and much more.

marzipan improvements

Developers who port their iOS applications to the Mac will gain access to new APIs - these enable the integration of Mac-specific functions such as the Touch Bar and the menu bar, including keyboard shortcuts. Split-screen apps ported from iOS will in future be able to be moved, resized and resized just like native Mac apps. Porting an iOS application should be just as easy as adding iPad support to a pure iPhone app - according to the report.

augmented reality

The AR experience on Apple's platforms will see significant improvements this year - including a brand new Swift-only framework for AR and a companion app that developers can use to visualize AR experiences. ARKit will also gain the ability to recognize human poses - game developers should also benefit from further improvements.

Taptic Engine, NFC and more

A new framework will give developers more access to the Taptic Engine, thereby allowing more scope for third-party developers. There are also new functions for link previews in apps - similar to iMessage. NFC reading rights are also to be significantly expanded - according to the source. A new version of CoreML is also to greatly improve machine learning.

The document scanning feature will also be updated and expanded. Apple is expected to release iOS 13, tvOS 13, macOS 10.15 and watchOS 6 on June 3 during the WWDC 2019 Keynote Developers will receive access to the first beta shortly afterwards - participants in the public beta program should be able to access the first test version at a later date. The final version of the four operating systems will most likely be released in September or October.
