Rumors that Apple plans to introduce iPad Pro models with OLED displays in the next few years have been circulating for some time. Now there are new indications that future iPad Pro devices could follow the iPhone 13 Pro.
A new report According to The Elec, new iPad Pros with power-efficient LTPO OLED displays could appear in 2023 or 2024. While the iPad Pro has been equipped with ProMotion since 2017, the professional tablet supports a smaller range of refresh rates between 24Hz and 120Hz. After the iPhone 13 Pro, the switch to LTPO OLED display technology could pave the way for future iPad Pro models to support a wider range of refresh rates between 10Hz and 120Hz. As a reminder, the iPad Pro has supported refresh rates of 120Hz, 60Hz, 40Hz, 30Hz and 24Hz since 2017. The iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 13 Pro Max, on the other hand, support 120Hz, 80Hz, 60Hz, 48Hz, 40Hz, 30Hz, 24Hz, 20Hz, 16Hz, 15Hz, 12Hz and 10Hz.
iPad Pro with OLED display: Well-known analyst predicts 2023
Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo originally claimed that the first iPad with an OLED panel would be released in 2022. However, he was assuming an Air model. In the meantime, he has revised his forecast to later. Various sources now claim that it will be 2023 or 2024. The well-informed display analyst Ross Young has also already predicted 2023. He was also the one who originally declared that it would not be the iPhone 12 Pro but the iPhone 13 Pro that would use LTPO displays. With his statement, he contradicted several leakers at the time.
