We have already read several rumors that Apple plans to introduce the third generation of AirPods this year. Now, new images have surfaced that are supposed to show the new audio accessories.
If the rumor mill is to be believed, Apple is planning to introduce the AirPods 3 and the second generation of the AirPods Pro this year. Now there is more information. The image shared by 52audio shows both the AirPods and the charging case for the alleged third generation of the wireless earbuds. 52audio has already shared images in the past that are supposed to show various parts of the third generation of the AirPods. It was only in November that an X-ray image was provided that was supposed to reveal the hardware. But shortly after that it turned out to be a fake. The image shared today, however, is consistent with what we know so far about the third generation AirPods. Bloomberg has reported that the new buds will adopt the design of the AirPods Pro by having a shorter stem and silicone ear tips. However, they will not have active noise cancellation.
Third generation AirPods: launch in March?
52audio states that the new AirPods have a pressure relief system. This technology is already used in the AirPods Pro. The system is designed to equalize the pressure in the ear so that the AirPods do not become uncomfortable even after prolonged use.
If the picture is real, the charging case will be less rectangular than the case that comes with the AirPods Pro. It could therefore be more like the original case. In terms of controls, claimedthat the new model will have the same touch surface that is already used in the Pro version. When Apple will present the AirPods 3 remains unclear.
