Due to problems with the backlight, the LCD iPhone will not be available until October, writes the well-informed analyst Katy Huberty, from the Morgan Stanley bank, in her recent report to investors.
"We currently see no delay in the run-up to Apple's upcoming flagship OLED iPhones," said the analyst. "However, suspected problems with the LED backlight have led to a one-month delay in mass production of the 6.1-inch LCD iPhone." The original forecast had been as high as six weeks.
This delay could have a negative impact on Apple's fourth fiscal quarter, which ends in September.
