In March 2025, the time has come: Apple will launch the iPhone SE 4. This is what analysts claim, based on information from the supply chain. The new model promises exciting innovations and could take the concept of the SE series in a new direction.

The iPhone SE has established itself as a solid and price-conscious entry-level model for Apple users. With its mix of proven technology and a lower price, it is particularly popular with all those who want to use an iPhone without the higher costs of the flagship models. Now Apple seems ready to fundamentally revise the iPhone SE and take it to a new level in terms of technology and appearance. The focus is on a modern design, new modem technology and improved features.

Release in March 2025

According to analysts at Barclays Bank The release date of the iPhone SE 4 has been confirmed for March 2025. This information is based on data from the supply chain, which Barclays considers reliable. Various sources have previously predicted a market launch in March, but Barclays seems to confirm the information first-hand.

Apple's own 5G modem

One of the most exciting innovations concerns the heart of the connection technology: the 5G modem. Apple plans to use a self-developed modem for the first time in an iPhone, after previously using Qualcomm chips. The iPhone SE 4 will therefore be a test field for this new hardware. However, there are indications that this modem will not support the faster mmWave technology, which is important for some iPhone models in the USA. Instead, it will probably be limited to sub-6GHz technology, which is sufficient for most users. If the test in the SE model is successful, Apple could also use this modem in other iPhones, thus making itself more independent of third-party providers.

Design based on the iPhone 14

Another highlight will be the design of the iPhone SE 4, which is said to be based on the look of the iPhone 14. This means that Apple is finally saying goodbye to the home button and relying on Face ID instead. The SE series has so far been known for reusing older designs, but with the iPhone SE 4, Apple could be taking a new path. The design features include:

  • A borderless screen without a home button
  • High-quality materials such as aluminum and glass
  • A compact and modern look, similar to the current flagship models

For users looking for a modern design at a cheaper price, this could be a decisive reason to go for the SE 4.

expectations regarding the price-performance ratio

The iPhone SE 4 is expected to follow in the tradition of the SE series and offer excellent value for money. With modern technologies such as Face ID and the new modem, it will probably be a little more expensive than its predecessors, but should still be a cheaper alternative to the flagship models. There is no more precise information on the price yet, but Apple will probably try to keep the costs within limits in order not to lose the target group.

The iPhone SE 4: A big step for Apple's entry-level model

The iPhone SE 4 could be the most exciting model in the SE series to date. With a modern design, the introduction of its own 5G modem and the possible omission of Touch ID, Apple shows that even the cheaper model series is keeping pace with technological developments. Whether it meets the high expectations remains to be seen, but one thing is certain: March 2025 could be an important moment for Apple fans. Stay tuned to not miss any news and look out for further updates as soon as Apple reveals more details. (Image: Apple)
