According to a leak on Weibo, Apple is preparing to introduce the third generation of Apple Pencil. The Weibo account, UnclePan, has been pretty accurate in the past. Which is why it's naturally getting attention. The third-generation Apple Pencil was reportedly revealed in a photo shared on Twitter last month. However, the accessory was hard to distinguish from the previous generation, aside from the fact that the case appeared to have a glossy finish rather than a matte finish. The current Apple Pencil line was last updated in 2018, along with the 2018 iPad Pro. To this day, Apple still sells both the first and second generation Apple Pencil.
AirPods 3: Sources contradict each other
This is because some iPads, such as the 9.7-inch iPad and the iPad mini, are not compatible with the second-generation Pencil. Details about the new model are very sparse. However, it is not impossible that the third generation will have new sensors to work more precisely. In addition to the Apple Pencil 3, new third-generation AirPods have also been hinted at.
