When Apple announced this fall that it would be shipping the iPhone without a power adapter in the future, Samsung made fun of Apple. Now the Korean company is copying the iPhone manufacturer.
After it became known that iPhones would be delivered without a power adapter in the future, Samsung has launched a campaign to make fun of it. The company highlighted its own charging adapter and explained that it would be sold with the smartphone. But that now seems to be changing. Rumors have already suggested that the Samsung Galaxy S21 will be released without a power adapter. Now documents have been submitted to the Brazilian regulator ANATEL confirming this (via 9to5mac). The documentation contains few details about the new devices but it does seem to confirm that none of the three new smartphones coming soon will ship with a charger or headphones. By removing the power adapter and headphones, Samsung will officially follow in Apple's footsteps.
Samsung Galaxy: First mock, then copy
None of the iPhone 12 models come with a power adapter or EarPods in the box, just a USB-C to Lightning cable. While Apple said the accessories were removed for environmental reasons, observers suspect this was due to cost savings due to 5G integration. In the past, Samsung has mocked Apple's design and product decisions before the company did the exact same thing. For example, when Apple removed the headphone jack from the iPhone 7 in 2016, Samsung poked fun at the iPhone before removing the headphone jack from the Galaxy S20.
