It's happened again - a leaked document has been discovered. According to an internal document, Apple is working on a major Siri update. As part of this, a completely new device is being developed for the smart assistant.

The British magazine “The Guardian“ has obtained an internal Apple document that reveals Cupertino’s plans around Siri shows. According to this, the assistant is to receive some features by autumn 2021, which are intended for a new device, among other things. The Siri upgrades are listed in the document under the code name "Yukon" and mention a completely new device. Apple is broadly touching on Siri's future. According to this, she should get a better understanding of what is being said and be able to support the new hardware. Apple does not mention which product it is or what purpose it should serve. Experts suspect that Cupertino is planning a further development of the HomePod.

Siri in offline mode

Of course, it is also possible that a brand new and still completely unknown device is on the way, but this remains pure speculation for now. As part of the update, Siri should also be able to perform some well-known functions much better and have access to additional services. These include the App Store, for example. According to the document, the smart assistant should be able to do more than just "search" for apps. A new translation feature is also planned that can be run locally - that is, Siri could work without an internet connection. Apple's efforts in the health market became known with the Apple Watch at the latest. But now Cupertino seems to want to involve Siri in this area too. The document mentions that the user can start a conversation with Siri about their health.

Apple emphasizes that this does not replace a visit to the doctor, but that Siri can only provide a preliminary diagnosis. The feature is likely to be an extension of the Health app.

As already written above, there is no indication what kind of Siri device this is. Some believe it is a further development of the HomePods. Apple's hotly speculated AR glasses could of course also be a candidate. However, it is not impossible that Cupertino is planning something completely new. (Photo by alicefoxart / Bigstockphoto)
