The iPhone SE is still very popular today and many owners of this smart model would like to get a successor. But Apple is taking its time - how long will it last?
There have been rumors about a successor to the iPhone SE for a long time, but details about the specifications have been scarce so far. Now star analyst Ming-Chi Kuo has also spoken out on this topic. He confirms earlier rumors that the iPhone SE 2 (name unknown so far) will be released in the first quarter of 2020. So the presentation of such an iPhone model would probably take place at Apple's spring keynote. The new iPhone SE 2 will be released in the familiar iPhone 8 case and will have the A13 chip - 3 GB of RAM would also be included - according to Kuo. The device will therefore have a 4.7-inch LCD display and will continue to rely on Touch ID.
Augmented reality also possible
An exact price is currently unknown - but it can be assumed that the new entry-level iPhone will be significantly cheaper than the premium series. According to Kuo, Apple wants to appeal primarily to iPhone 6 owners with the new iPhone SE 2.
Although the device would not have Face ID or a triple camera, augmented reality would not be a problem thanks to the powerful A13 chip. It remains to be seen whether the 4.7-inch device will really appeal to iPhone SE owners - after all, its successor will be a little larger. However, the performance should be a reason to upgrade.
