A well-known leaker has revealed new details, including the price and features. If the information is correct, Apple will launch the iPhone Fold next year—and at a rather high price.
Foldable smartphones are no longer a novelty. Samsung, Google, and other manufacturers already offer devices that open like a book. Apple hasn't been part of this trend so far. But that's likely to change soon. According to multiple sources, the iPhone Fold is in the works and could launch alongside the iPhone 18 in 2026. It will likely be priced at the top of the market. According to leaker "Instant Digital," the iPhone Fold will cost between $2,100 and $2,300. That's significantly more than foldable smartphones from Samsung or Google. By comparison, the current Galaxy Z Fold 6 starts at $1,899.99. Google's Pixel 9 Pro Fold starts at $1,799. Apple's price is significantly higher. This price range isn't entirely surprising. Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo had already reported that the foldable iPhone could cost more than $2,000. The new leak confirms this. The estimate is based, among other things, on Apple's usual profit margin. So, it won't be cheaper than the competition.
Technical details: Two displays, almost square format
In addition to the price, there is also new information about the features. The iPhone Fold is said to have two displays. A 5.5-inch screen is installed on the outside – practical for quick checks and operation when the device is folded. Inside, you'll find a significantly larger 7.8-inch display. The aspect ratio is said to be almost 4:3, which is similar to a small tablet. A major criticism of previous foldable devices is the visible crease in the middle of the screen. According to reports, this is precisely where Apple wants to start. The goal is to either significantly reduce this annoying crease or eliminate it altogether. Whether this will succeed remains to be seen, but Apple is known for working very precisely on such details.

Several sources report that Apple plans to introduce the iPhone Fold next year, alongside the iPhone 18. This would fit well with the current rhythm. A release in 2026 is therefore considered likely.
