Wedbush analyst Daniel Ives has released a supply chain analysis that found that the iPhone 2021 lineup will most likely be released on time in September.
Last year, the disruption of production as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic led Apple to break with its usual tradition and not release any new iPhone models in September presentedInstead, the iPhone 12 series was released on October 23rd, with sales starting at different times. In previous years, Apple has always introduced iPhone models in September. However, there have been a few exceptions when it comes to launch. For example, in 2018, the iPhone XR was not released until October, while the iPhone XS models were available in September. According to Wedbush, supply chain checks indicate that the iPhone 2021 lineup is currently scheduled for a release in the third week of September.
iPhone 2021: Analyst believes in strong demand
However, due to "product model tweaks," this could be pushed back to early October, at least for some models - according to Ives. The 2021 iPhone is expected to feature various feature upgrades, such as a 120Hz high refresh rate display, a smaller notch, LiDAR scanners on all models and improved cameras. As previously reported, the analyst believes that Apple will offer a 1TB storage version for the first time this year. This option will probably be reserved for the Pro series. Wedbush expects Apple to produce 25% more units than last year, with current estimates in the range of 100 million.
