Just a few weeks before the iPhone 11 presentation, the number of rumors surrounding the upcoming iPhone lineup is increasing. Some of them are not new but rather confirm previous sources.
The Taiwanese DigiTimes has published a new report about the iPhone 11. It summarizes some well-known rumors again - citing suppliers. The new publication confirms the release of three new iPhone models. Two of the devices are expected to have a display diagonal of around 5.8 inches and 6.5 inches - both will have an OLED screen. The third iPhone will come with a 6.1-inch LCD screen - according to DigiTimes. All three devices will have the biometric recognition technology Face ID - the notch will remain unchanged in the course of the update. The 3D Touch feature will no longer be available - instead, Apple is relying on a software-based replacement. The heart of the new iPhone generation is expected to be the A13 chip - this was manufactured using TSMC's 7nm process.
The battery capacity increases
DigiTimes emphasizes in its latest report that the iPhone 11 will support so-called bilateral wireless charging. This means that users of an iPhone 2019 model can wirelessly charge accessories such as the AirPods or the Apple Watch on the back of their iPhone - third-party accessories should also be able to benefit from this feature. The function could also be used to charge a friend's iPhone. The innovation therefore results in a larger battery - according to DigiTimes. The battery capacity should increase by up to 20 percent. The iPhone XS successor can look forward to a 3,200 mAh battery, according to rumors - an increase of around ten percent. The new 6.5-inch model will supposedly come with 3,500 mAh - an increase of around 20 percent. The battery of the iPhone XR successor will only grow minimally - around 3,000 mAh is expected here - an increase of around two percent.
