A benchmark test of the A15 chip, supposedly intended for the "iPhone 13", shows that it is around 13.7% faster than its predecessor, the A14, allowing Apple to maintain its lead in mobile performance.

A Manhattan 3.1 GPU benchmark test shows that Apple's A15 chip managed 198 FPS in the first round of testing. The second round, however, is not as impressive at 140 to 150 FPS. But the benchmark results show how the A15 GPU performed after two rounds of testing. That is, the values show that the A15 chip has to throttle down its speed after a certain amount of time. But, even taking the speed drop into account, it still outperforms the Android competition by a long way.

iPhone 13: What innovations can we expect?

one Tweet According to FrontTron, the benchmark tests were carried out with a test unit of the A15, which comes from a batch from July. The whole thing was already published in the Chinese forum Clien discussed. It can therefore be assumed that the Android competition will look old again this year. The iPhone 13 models are expected to be introduced shortly with a number of new features, including a 120Hz display, larger batteries, new camera functions, an "A15" chip, up to 1TB of storage and more. Whether the rumor mill is right once again remains to be seen. (Photo by Unsplash / Daniel Romero)
