Apple is likely to unveil the iPhone 13 series next week, and it is now claimed that the iPhone 13 mini could solve the biggest problem of its predecessor – battery life.
According to various reports, the iPhone 13 series will include four models that will be released in sizes 5.4″, 6.1″ and 6.7″. Strictly speaking, these are the direct successors to the existing iPhone 12 series. Now reported Leaker Max Weinbach (via PineLeaks) said on Twitter that the mini version of the iPhone 13 could solve the biggest problem of its predecessor.
The Pro Max variant will continue to be Apple's true flagship smartphone and will stand out from the regular Pro model. We expect the iPhone mini variant to offer an additional ~1 hour of battery life.
If the rumor about the iPhone 13 mini having better battery life is true, it could finally put an end to perhaps the biggest criticism of the iPhone 12 mini: its weak battery performance.
iPhone 13 mini: Will the battery life be convincing?
A major test by Tom's Guide found that the small Apple smartphone lasts around 7.5 hours with 5G. This is partly due to the very small 2,227 mAh battery, which is a major drawback of the small form factor. With battery life that won't get most people through an average workday, the iPhone 12 mini has struggled with sales and is often cited as the worst device in the iPhone 12 lineup. Apple is even expected to discontinue the mini altogether next year. Despite this, it will reportedly receive another iteration this year, along with a regular iPhone and two "Pro" models in a configuration equivalent to the iPhone 12, currently the best iPhone.
