Apple will host the "California streaming" event on Tuesday evening and unveil new products, including the iPhone 13 series. Now Bloomberg journalist and Apple leaker Mark Gurman has explained his expectations.
In the latest output In his "Power On" newsletter, Gurman summarizes his expectations regarding the iPhone 13 and the Apple Watch Series 7. He lists the following innovations that we can expect from the new iPhone:
- The same design but with a narrower notch
- Three camera lenses on the Pro models and two on the regular models
- Video version of Portrait Mode, a new AI-powered filter system to apply different styles to photos, ProRes video recording for the Pro models
- Faster A15 processor with the same number of cores as the A14 but slightly faster
- LTPO (Low-Temperature Polycrystalline Oxide) displays for the iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 13 Pro Max, which "probably also means a higher refresh rate"
- satellite functions for emergency communication

As for the Apple Watch Series 7, Gurman once again writes that the upcoming smartwatch will feature a new design with flat edges and will come with a "range of new bands and watch faces." The Apple Watch Series 7 is expected to come in 41mm and 45mm sizes and will have a faster S7 processor. In addition, he reiterated that there will be no new health features this year. Instead, features such as body temperature, blood pressure and blood sugar measurements are expected to appear in later models.
