According to a leaker, Apple could update the iPad Pro this fall. While the use of the M2 chip is likely, the integration of wireless charging is doubtful.
Apple is expected to update its iPad Pro line, which consists of the 11-inch iPad Pro and the 12.9-inch model, sometime this year. The well-known and particularly accurate leaker Dylandkt suspects that the new generation will be introduced in the fall. The latest Tweet by @Dylandkt begins with the statement "M2 iPad Pro coming in the fall," suggesting it's among the numerous product announcements also expected this time of year. Since the current iPad Pro models use the M1 chip, an M2 upgrade to complement that model seems plausible. In July, it was speculated that TSMC could use a 3nm process for the model's chips, which could then be used in the next Apple Silicon update.
iPad Pro with M2 chip: Mini-LED technology is expanded
The iPad Pro isn't the only product set to receive the M2, by the way. It's been claimed that the brand new MacBook Air will use the new M2 chip. A cheaper 14-inch MacBook Pro is also expected to replace the current 13-inch model with the M1 chip. But back to the iPad Pro. While rumors emerged in January that the iPad Pro might use a glass Apple logo to enable MagSafe charging, Dylandkt says that feature may not be a feature in 2022.
I've only heard concerns about wireless charging/MagSafe capabilities from several sources.
As for the display, it is said that the 11-inch model will finally benefit from the mini-LED technology that can also be found in the 12.9-inch model. This statement is in line with a forecast made by analyst Ming-Chi Kuo in mid-2021. However, the tweet did not only refer to the iPad Pro.
