According to various rumors, the iPad mini 6 is set to undergo a thorough redesign. Specifically, it is claimed that the casing of the device will be aligned with the iPad Air 4 and newer iPad Pro models. Now images have emerged that are supposed to confirm this.
The images that Twitter user and leaker “Majin Bu” provided allegedly show the sixth-generation iPad mini with an all-screen design in the style of the iPad Air 4, with angled edges, a Touch ID fingerprint scanner in the standby button and thus no Home button as previously claimed. The most noticeable change that distinguishes the design of the sixth-generation iPad mini from that of the iPad Air 4 is the relocation of the volume buttons to the opposite side of the standby button on the top edge of the device.
The main reason for relocating the volume buttons seems to be to place the Apple Pencil on the right edge of the device. The iPad Air and iPad Pro models can accommodate both the volume buttons and the magnetically attached Apple Pencil on the right edge of the device.
When will Apple introduce the iPad mini 6?
But that doesn't seem to be the case with the next generation iPad mini due to its significantly smaller overall size. This has probably prompted Apple to move the volume buttons to the other side. Anyone interested in the new iPad mini 6 will probably have to wait a little longer. Although Apple is holding an event tomorrow evening, many observers doubt that the company will unveil the iPad mini 6. Apple leaker and Bloomberg journalist Mark Gurman has already claimed that Apple is planning two events in the fall. The first - California streaming - is said to focus on new iPhone and Apple Watch models, while the second event will focus on new MacBook Pro and iPad devices.
