If you believe the rumor mill, Apple will soon be introducing the iPad Air 4 in the iPad Pro design. It is said to have a 10.8 or 11-inch display and offer some interesting features. But now drawings have been published that show exactly this device. What is interesting is that it is allegedly not the iPad Air 4. The new images were taken by 91Mobiles publishedThe platform claims that this is the eighth generation iPad. However, recent reports document an upcoming iPad Air 4.
Information about the specifications is puzzling
The page with the images contradicts several reliable sources. A few days ago, a manual was published that supposedly belongs to the iPad Air 4. The device shown there is similar to the one in the drawing. If both finds are actually genuine, it can be assumed that they are the same device. This would make it an iPad Air 4 and not an iPad 8 - unless Apple plans to present both devices in the same design. In addition, 91Mobiles claims that the device has Face ID. This is completely out of the question, as the TrueDepth camera is currently only available on the much more expensive iPad Pro series. In addition, enough sources have already claimed that the newer - inexpensive - devices will have Touch ID in the standby switch.
iPad Air 4 could be released as early as September
Furthermore, iPad Pro models have four stereo speakers and now a square camera with a LiDAR scanner. The device shown here, however, only seems to have two speakers and the normal camera. On the whole, it cannot be ruled out that the drawings are real. However, the statement should not be taken seriously. In terms of the launch date, leaker Jon Prosser claims that Apple could present new iPad and Apple Watch models as early as the second week of September via a press release.
