According to a new report, iPadOS 15 will receive significant improvements in the area of multitasking. At the same time, banners for incoming notifications in iOS 15 will also be fundamentally redesigned.

In a new report Bloomberg repeats previous statements about new features in iOS 15 and iPadOS 15 and also provides a few new details. Gurman has previously stated that iPadOS 15 will allow users to place widgets anywhere on the home screen. Today, Gurman announced further details. There will also be improvements in multitasking.

For the iPad, Apple plans to revamp the home screen and support the placement of widgets - snippets of dynamic information such as calendar, weather and stocks - anywhere on the screen. This is a much-requested feature that will bring the iPad in line with the Android competition. The company also plans an improved multitasking system that will make it easier to operate multiple apps at once.

Additionally, Gurman says that in addition to major changes to iMessage and a new way for users to set their status on their device, iOS 15 will also include a redesigned banner for incoming notifications.

iOS 15 & iPadOS 15: A feature is postponed

In the new software updates for iPhone and iPad, users will now be able to set a status -- for example, whether they are driving, sleeping, working, or do not want to be disturbed -- and then use that to determine how incoming notifications are handled. The update will also include a greater focus on automatic message replies and a new design for incoming notification banners at the top of the screen.

Gurman also notes that Apple has been working on a redesigned lock screen for the iPad and iPhone. But according to his information, these changes have now been postponed. They can be expected in iOS 16 or iPadOS 16. As for macOS 12, tvOS 15 and watchOS 8, Gurman says that minor updates can be expected. watchOS 8 will include improved health monitoring features and "interface improvements."
