Apple fans worldwide are in for an exciting announcement, as the company's long-awaited AR/VR headset is expected to be unveiled at the Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) in June. Rumors suggest that Apple is finally planning to officially announce the headset. Industry analyst Ming-Chi Kuo supports these speculations by stressing that the company is "well prepared."

In the past, there were reports suggesting that production of the headset had been delayed until the third quarter of 2023, raising doubts about a WWDC unveiling. However, Ming-Chi Kuo holds an announcement next month is "highly likely," indicating that Apple is prepared for the upcoming unveiling. In a report, Kuo described the five most expensive components of the headset and mentioned that they will be supplied by different suppliers. The expensive components include 4K micro OLED displays, two M2-based processors, the headset body, 12 optical cameras for hand motion capture, and the external power supply. Sony, TSMC, Everwin Precision, Cowell, and Goretek are the suppliers providing these components. The high price of the headset is expected to be around $3,000.

Apple AR/VR headset: On the way to groundbreaking innovation?

This pricing suggests that Apple may not be positioning the device for the masses of consumers, but rather designing it for developers, content creators and professionals. The company expects to sell only one headset per day per Apple Store. For the first year of availability, Apple plans to sell between seven and ten million units. The excitement is building as Apple fans worldwide eagerly await the WWDC keynote on June 5. At this event, the company is expected to officially unveil the AR/VR headset. Although there have been dozens of leaks, the exact details remain under wraps for now. With the announcement of the headset, Apple is entering the augmented reality and virtual reality market, promising a revolutionary experience for developers, content creators and professionals. It remains to be seen how audiences will react to the new product and what impact it will have on the industry. (Image: Rendersbyjan)
