The news that Apple now wants to take action against prominent leakers came as a bombshell. Now there is a new report that addresses Apple's internal rule changes - the topic is body cams.
Well-known leaker Jon Prosser has revealed in a new blog post explainedthat Apple plans to equip some of its employees with body cameras from now on. The cameras will be made available to certain teams, presumably based on the project they are currently working on.
For the first time, it's been reported that Apple is requiring some of its employees to wear "police-style" body cameras, which are said to resemble the number one law enforcement camera, the Axon Body 2. "Similar," though not the same.
Whether or not Apple uses these special body cameras, the fact that they're being issued to employees at all is particularly noteworthy. After all, this is the first time we've heard of Apple taking this kind of measure to prevent information from leaking out - and it's reportedly been doing so for several weeks.
No power to the leaks: Will body cams help Apple?
Apple has always tried to prevent leaks and has taken various measures to do so. But now the company seems to be taking even more dramatic steps. There was once a time when Apple's information was rarely made public. But as the company relies on more and more suppliers, contractors and service providers, the number of leaks has increased dramatically. So it's no surprise that much of the information we see today comes from supply chain analysts or other leakers who have contact with people at companies like Foxconn, Pegatron and others. That's the real reason why people like Ming-Chi Kuo, Kang, L0vetodream and Co. are well informed.
