What will Apple call the new iPhones? This question has been occupying the community for months.
When Apple sent out the invitation to the keynote, a cover image of the new iPhones appeared. According to this, the OLED models were to be called iPhone Xs. Some assume that the iCompany will name the large 6.5" device the iPhone Xs Plus. Then four days ago, the surprise came.
Two different magazines, completely independent of each other, cite sources in their reports that lead to Apple's marketing department. Both 9to5Mac and BGR write that Apple wanted to name both OLED models iPhone Xs - like the iPad Pro.
But in the end, the iGroup decided otherwise. The 5.8" iPhone will be called the iPhone Xs. The Plus version will therefore be called the iPhone Xs Max.
There is wild speculation about the LCD model. The community assumes that Apple will call the device iPhone 9. At the same time, another part is of the opinion that the 6.1" LCD model will be called iPhone Xc.
Now an image has been published that allegedly comes from the mobile phone provider China Mobil. To be precise, a presentation slide was published this morning on weibo.com, a Chinese short message service.
Accordingly, Apple will call the OLED models iPhone Xs and iPhone Xs Plus, as expected, and the LCD device will be called iPhone Xc.
We will find out what Apple will actually call the upcoming iPhones on Wednesday, September 12th. It remains to be seen whether any more "leaks" will appear by then. One thing is clear - just three more sleeps and then it will finally happen.
