The pressure sensitivity can be individually adjusted on compatible devices. But now that is definitely over. The reason is said to be a lack of popularity and the manufacturing process. Although 3D Touch was an improvement and is still popular with some users, the function was not a great success. The sensors required for it also made the manufacture of the displays much more difficult, which is why production was also more expensive. Over the last few months, rumors of the discontinuation have increased - some fans laughed at them, but now it is no longer a rumor but reality.
iPhone 11 Pro with Haptic Touch
The replacement for 3D Touch is called Haptic Touch and was first introduced in this form with the iPhone XR last year. In this version, the user receives haptic (vibrating) feedback with a long tap. The function was originally known as Force Touch on the Apple Watch. Apple had to optimize this feature in the iPhone X due to the missing home button. Incidentally, haptic feedback is also used in Macs, where it is also known under the name Force Touch.With Haptic Touch you can do things faster, like taking selfies, without having to launch the camera app” – this is how Apple advertises the new feature.
It essentially gives the user, through software, the feeling of using 3D Touch—with the help of iOS 13, it's supposed to be even better, and in no way inferior to 3D Touch.
