Back in January, the YouTube channel Front Page Tech showed an alleged rendering of the redesigned camera app, which is said to be based on iOS 19. Host Jon Prosser explained that the camera app will also be redesigned. He said it will feature transparent buttons, a cleaner interface, and a larger viewfinder. The new layout is said to appear cleaner and more airy overall—a step away from the previous, rather dense layout.
Design changes affect the entire system
Bloomberg's Mark Gurman also released details at the beginning of March. He predicts that the new design won't be limited to individual apps. Instead, many areas of iOS 19 will be affected, including system apps, notifications, and likely the lock screen and Control Center. Gurman calls it the biggest design change since iOS 7—which, after all, was the update that finally replaced the classic skeuomorphism design.
