The successor to the iPhone SE is due to be released in early 2020. That is at least what the rumor mill says. Now analyst Ming-Chi Kuo has spoken out again.

The well-known TFI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo gave his forecast for the iPhone SE 2 in a new note to investors. According to this, Kuo believes that Apple will ship around 20 million devices in 2020 - those who are particularly optimistic could even expect 30 million iPhone SE 2 models to be sold in 2020. His forecast is based on expectations from various suppliers.

The new iPhone 8

According to Kuo, Apple will use a 10-layer substrate-like printed circuit board (SLP) for its motherboard in the new iPhone SE successor. However, cheaper components will be used than in the iPhone 11 generation - according to the analyst. While many have hoped for a small 4-inch device, it has already been emphasized several times that the new iPhone SE 2 will be based on the design of the iPhone 8. Accordingly, the no longer so smart entry-level iPhone will have a 4.7-inch screen. The expected starting price is around 400 US dollars. Apple devices here are not test units on loan for two weeks but everyday tools: from the iPhone through MacBook Pro, MacBook Air, and iMac to the Apple Vision Pro, at least one device from nearly every product category is in daily use, many of them replaced annually. Every menu path in a guide is verified on the device before it is published.
