Rumors have already been published today regarding the camera system of the iPhone 2021 series. Now a new report comments on the Face ID module and suggests a smaller notch.
The Taiwanese news site DigiTimes has already published a report publishedthat Apple could extend the sensor-shift camera stabilization introduced with the iPhone 12 Pro Max to all models of the next generation of iPhone. Now the news site has published another article claiming that changes are to be made in the area of Face ID. So is called it in it:
The Face ID system of the next generation iPhone will undergo some design changes, with the size of the notch at the top of the screen shrinking and the ultra-wide-angle lens being upgraded from 5P to 6P.
The new design integrates Rx, Tx and Flood Illuminator into the same camera module, similar to that of a LiDAR scanner in the rear camera module to enable smaller notch sizes.

Rumors about a reduction in the size of the notch have been with us since 2018. Every year this change has been announced for the upcoming lineup - but so far the notch has remained the same. With regard to the iPhone 2021, we have now seen three such reports, including from Ice Universe, a very reliable leaker. According to this, there is indeed a possibility that the notch will be changed this year. However, since we have been documenting such rumors for years, the whole thing should be viewed with skepticism.
