Apple is reportedly "seriously" concerned about sales of the iPhone 14 Plus, the 6.7-inch variant of the iPhone 14 lineup, and is considering how to restructure its iPhone lineup for next year.
The iPhone 14 Plus is the newest member of the iPhone lineup and replaces the 5.4-inch mini iPhone. The iPhone 14 Plus has the same design, cameras and performance as the regular iPhone 14, but has a larger display and battery. According to a Contribution by yeux1122 on Naver, who has shared both accurate and inaccurate information in the past, Apple is thinking about how it will reevaluate the treatment of Pro and non-Pro iPhones for the iPhone 15.

The post outlines two possible strategies Apple is reportedly considering. The first is to further differentiate the Pro and non-Pro iPhones, something that has already been hinted at by Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo. Second, Apple is considering a price cut on the Plus model, which starts at $899, according to the post, citing supply chain and industry sources. A price cut on the Plus model means the standard iPhone, which starts at $799, could also see a price cut unless Apple wants to narrow the price difference between the two models. Over the past few years, Apple has changed and re-evaluated its iPhone lineup a few times. Starting with the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus, Apple initially offered small and large iPhones before moving on to offer four models, two standard and two high-end, with different materials, colors, and camera features.
Which strategies does Apple choose?
With the iPhone 13 Pro, for example, Apple started offering the same camera systems for the 6.1-inch Pro and 6.7-inch Pro Max models, unlike in previous years when more advanced camera features were reserved only for the largest iPhone. With the iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Pro, Apple has decided to offer two standard and two high-end models with the same sizes: two 6.1-inch models and two 6.7-inch models. The iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max have the same cameras and design. The only difference is the larger battery of the iPhone 14 Pro Max.
