The rumor that Apple is working on augmented reality glasses is certainly anything but new. Although the application area for such a product is not yet completely clear, Bloomberg is now shedding some light on the matter. The news channel is usually considered to be well informed and now claims to have learned something about Apple's plans for 2020. According to the report, 2020 is to be Apple's augmented reality year - led by new AR glasses. With this statement, Bloomberg confirms a previous report by the well-known analyst Ming-Chi Kuo. The launch of these new glasses is planned for spring 2020, but a postponement cannot be ruled out - according to Bloomberg. The final launch date has not yet been set. The specific area of application has not yet been clearly defined. Bloomberg describes the new product as glasses that could display messages, emails, maps and even games, for example - a separate app store cannot be ruled out.
iPhone 2020 and sleep monitoring
According to rumors, the iPhone 2020 will have a new design with a 3D camera based on time-of-flight technology. The sensor calculates the time it takes for light to reach a surface - it can therefore determine depth information and thus create more precise images. However, the ToF system on the back of the iPhone would not be identical to the TrueDepth camera we know today, as the front module cannot work with greater distances. This would also open up new augmented reality possibilities.
Due to the new design, the iPhone devices are expected to be released in 5.4-, 6.1- and 6.7-inch sizes. Bloomberg repeated existing reports on the subject and confirmed them again.
