Apple regularly releases updates to improve the user experience and ensure the security of devices. The iOS 17.5.2 update is just around the corner, and although no official details are known yet, there are already some clues that we have compiled in this article.

The upcoming release of iOS 17.5.2 was announced by a private social media account (via 9to5mac). This account has proven to be reliable in the past and shared the build number 21F101, indicating that the update will be available soon.

Expected improvements and bug fixes

Although Apple has not yet made any official announcements about the specific new features, the update strategy so far suggests that iOS 17.5.2 will mainly include bug fixes and performance improvements. It is unlikely that new features will be introduced, as smaller updates usually serve to stabilize and optimize existing software.

Review of iOS 17.5 and 17.5.1

iOS 17.5 was released on May 13 and brought several new features, including:

  • Web Distribution in the EU, enabling better integration of web apps.
  • Updates to the Apple News app that improve the user experience.
  • iOS 17.5.1 followed a week later and included an important fix for the Photos app, where deleted photos were reappearing due to a database error.

Outlook on future updates

Currently, Apple is also testing iOS 17.6 and iOS 18, both of which are expected in the near future. iOS 17.5.2 is believed to be released within the next two weeks, followed by iOS 17.6 and finally iOS 18 in September. These updates are expected to bring major new features and improvements.

Why you should install iOS 17.5.2

iOS 17.5.2 will be a major update that will focus primarily on improving system stability and bug fixes. Although no major new features are expected, it is advisable to install the latest update to ensure the best possible performance and security for your iPhone. Stay tuned for more information that may be released in the coming days. (Photo by Bigc Studio / Bigstockphoto)

Apple devices here are not test units on loan for two weeks but everyday tools: from the iPhone through MacBook Pro, MacBook Air, and iMac to the Apple Vision Pro, at least one device from nearly every product category is in daily use, many of them replaced annually. Every menu path in a guide is verified on the device before it is published.
